medium size rosettes, lanceolate-obovate rosette leaves, leaf margins slightly serrated especially at the base, variation in leaf pubescence from almost glabrous leaves with few trichomes to very pubescent throughout, flowers occur in dense clusters, numerous lateral branches, height = 30-40 cm, branching angle = 35-40 degrees; varies at one other microsatellite marker on chromosome V; habitat of collection site: rock outcrop 30m x 10m on west-facing slope, very thin soil, low vegetation cover (Bryophytes, Asteraceae), clearing within a mixed forest (Quercus, Betula, Pinus); longitude/latitude: E 011 35 28.1/N49 37 49.5; elevation: 510m; third generation of single seed descent from original wild collected seeds; collected in May 2000.
