Description: The GeneChip® C. elegans Genome Array is a single array that enables the monitoring of more than 22,500 transcripts from C. elegans, an important model organism for developmental biology and functional genomics. Sequence information used for the design of the C. elegans probe array was downloaded from the Sanger Center database on December 05, 2000 and from GenBank® release 121. All sequences were functionally reannotated by Affymetrix for improved descriptions. Complementary oligonucleotide probes that detect gene transcripts are synthesized in situ on the arrays. Each gene sequence for C. elegans is represented by approximately 11 different probe sequences arranged in probe pair sets.
