suppression of rate of elongation in rapidly elongating cells; slow rate of cell number increase in roots; organs shorter and thinner than wild type; leaves sometimes dark; cotyledons prone to anthocyanin production when grown on plates; small, somewhat asymmetric, curled and twisted leaves; rosette 2.5 cm. diameter; somewhat reduced apical dominance, depending on growth conditions; growth of roots, but not cultured or regenerating cells, much less responsive to cytokinins than WT; 30% recombination to nga168.
