InsertWatch
The InsertWatch service has now been updated. It is now accesible through AtEnsembl.
The NASC Arabidopsis Genome Browser, AtEnsembl (version 3 (09-07-2004)) includes InsertWatch as one of its tools. This replaces the former version of InsertWatch.
What is InsertWatch?
InsertWatch is a service provided by the European Arabidopsis Stock Centre (NASC) that allows you to look for inserts in a particular gene or in your own sequence. You can register any gene or sequence and receive information via email about all the inserts that are located in that region. Moreover, InsertWatch will notify you when new inserts are located in your region of interest.
How to access the new InsertWatch
- Looking for inserts located in a particular gene
Go to AtEnsembl and click on TIGR annotation. In the search tool, select Gene and type the gene you are interested in. In the TIGR Gene report that you obtain you will see the InsertWatch tool. Enter your email and press submit.
- Looking for inserts located in your own sequence
Go to AtEnsembl and submit your sequence to the blast tool. In the output there will be a link to InsertWatch for each alignment, click on the link for the alignment you are interested in and the inserts located in that particular region will be listed. Enter a sequence name of your choice to identify the sequence, your email address, and your sequence will be submitted.
