Site Background

This site was constructed in 2004 as part of my final year undergraduate project whilst studying for a BSc Applied Biology at the University of Nottingham, Plant Science Division. The aim of the project was to produce a website on a topic for 'distance learning' at degree level. Agrobacterium tumefaciens was chosen as a subject as I have developed an interest in the science of plant transformation during my time at university, and I appreciate the benefits that this new technology may have.

I would like to thank the following people for their help and encouragement with this project.

  • Dr. Sean May, for all his help, and thoughtful feedback during the course of the project.
  • Dr. Mike Davey, for his helpful suggestions regarding the content of the site and for stimulating my interest in the subject.
  • All my friends and family for their help, support and endless cups of tea during the project!
  • Philip Wright, Spring 2004
