Site Background and Acknowledgements

Whilst studying for a BSc in Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham (under the Plant Science Division), as part of my final year undergraduate project, it was my decision to create a website. The aim of the project was to produce a website that could be used as a source of information, as well as a distance learning tool at degree level, on a particular topic. After much deliberation with my Project Supervisor, Dr Sean May, I decided to construct a website that could be used as a compendium of public insert populations for Arabidopsis.

I would like to thank the following people for their help and encouragement during the course of this project:

Dr Sean May for all his help and guidance.

Dr Emma Humphreys for her useful suggestions and ideas.

Mr Graeme Gill for the information that he provided.

Mr Rohan Patel for the countless hours of sleep that he sacrificed to proof-read my work as well as his thoughts and opinions and during the construction process.

Website Production

The following Books and Websites need to be mentioned as they invaluable to me during the early stages of the project - without them, this website would be no where near complete:

Castro, E. (2003); HTML for the World Wide Web; Fifth Edition Visual Quickstart Guide; Peachpit Press.

The World Wide Web Consortium (http://www.w3.org/).

The Sizzling HTML Jalfrezzi Website ( http://www.jalfrezi.com/).

The NCSA's Beginners Guide to HTML Website.
