Here all the ecotypes germinated on the same day and this time the N1601 variety grew the quickest in the first and subsequent days. By the 7 th day all of the seedlings in the N1601 had germinated before the other ecotypes and before any of the N1601 strain developed into true leaves. All of the ecotypes started developing into true leaves on the 9 th day. By the last day (14) all of the seedlings in the N1601 variety had developed in to true leaves. With regard to the other ecotypes all but one of the germinated seedlings developed into true leaves by the last day

Compared to the 1 st condition in the N1601 strain, being left in the walk in fridge at 4 ºC overnight clearly had a significant effect. The p value returned was 0.01 and as such chance can be discounted as having a major factor in the increase in the rate of germination. Here are the p values for this experiment. Neither the N933 nor the N20 strains benefited statistically from the different treatment.
