Description
Fedoroff T-DNA Collection
This is a collection of 264 transposon T-DNA lines donated by the Fedoroff Transposon Tagging Laboratory.
Transposon T-DNA lines: lines carry a single copy transposon T-DNA (Ds-GUS T-DNA). The transposon is derived from McClintock's maize Activator (Ac) transposable element. This utilizes a beta-glucuronidase (GUS) gene in a promoter/enhancer trap construct and a bacterial aph4 gene (hygromycin resistance) is included as a selectable marker. The transposon is inserted in an herbicide-resistant acetolactate synthase gene, whose function is restored when the transposon excises. The distributed seeds are the R3 generation from a single, homozygous, self-pollinated R2 plant. These can be crossed to Ac stocks N8533-N8538 to induce transposition.
Further Information
Please consult the Plant Transposon Lab web site for a map of the Ds-GUS T-DNA insertions, information on the use of these stocks and results from transposition experiments.
