Description
Ds Transposon tagged lines
These lines were produced and donated by Dr. Dieter Soll and Dr. Karin Johnson, Yale University, Connecticut. Crosses between two Ac and four Ds parents were made and progeny were grown by self fertilization to the F3 or F4 generation. The Ac parents in the crosses carried a linked GUS gene, and the Ds lines contained streptomycin resistance (StrR) and hygromycin resistance (HmR). The parental lines were produced by Drs. C. Dean and I. Bancroft. Selection for both resistances was practiced in both the F2 and F3 generations. No selection for or against Ac was practiced. The donated stocks consisted of individual F3 or F4 families. A single letter code of the donors' stock number indicates the pedigree, according to the following table.
Ac Parent | Ds Parent | Code |
AcGUS1 | DsA3 | N |
AcGUS1 | DsB1 | P |
AcGUS1 | DsC12b | Q |
AcGUS1 | DsE | T |
AcGUS4 | DsA3 | U |
AcGUS4 | DsB1 | W |
AcGUS4 | DsC12b | Y |
AcGUS4 | DsE | Z |
Each of the total 164 lines was independently derived. The genetic background is Landsberg erecta (Ler).
