Description
STY1, STY2, SHI, LRP1, SRS3, SRS4, SRS5, SRS6 and SRS7 belong to a plant specific transcription factor family (the SHI/STY family) with highly redundant functions throughout plant organ development, including leaves, roots, gynocia and anthers. STY1, which has been most well studied, activates target genes encoding YUCCA proteins mediating auxin biosynthesis as well as a large number of additional genes.
