Stock type: individual line
Material type: seed

Description
Line defined as erecta by Will Feenstra. Background line for all mutants produced by Feenstra, Van der Veen and Koornneef at Wageningen University
Phenotype
blunt fruits, short petioles, usually upright stems, compact inflorescence; Ler-0, ecotype derived from Landsberg (La-0), but genetically distinct; carries erecta gene; blunt siliques, upright stems, bunched flowers; common background line. round leaves, short petioles, short pedicels, flowers are clustered at the top of the inflorescence, short and wide siliques with blunt tip, short and upright stems, compact inflorescence, carries erecta gene; height = 20-25 cm.
N6213 Name: phytochrome B Price: £11.00
Donor
  • North Carolina State University Jason W. Reed
Locus Photo
photo of Arabidopsis plant
Stock type: individual line
Material type: seed

Phenotype
(formerly phyB-8-36 and hy3-8-36) strong allele; long hypocotyl in red and white but not in far-red light; plants are light green to green due to reduced chlorophyll level (less pale than hy1, hy2, and hy6); abnormally elongated petioles, stems and root hairs; smaller leaf areas; flowers earlier than wild type during both long and short days, having fewer rosette leaves; greater apical dominance (longer main inflorescences, fewer lateral branches, fewer stem termini and fewer siliques on the main inflorescence).
N6219 Name: phytochrome A Price: £11.00
Donor
  • Kyoto University Akira Nagatani
  • North Carolina State University Jason W. Reed
Locus Photo
photo of Arabidopsis plant
Stock type: individual line
Material type: seed

Phenotype
(formerly fre1-1 = far-red elongated) strong allele; long hypocotyl and unexpanded cotyledons in far-red light; hypocotyl elongation not affected in white or red light; reduced ability to de-etiolate after growth in the dark; mature plants grown under continuous white light have similar phenotype and flowering time to wild type; allelic to hy8 (long hypocotyl) and fhy2 (far-red long hypocotyl).
N6224 Name: phytochrome A, phytochrome B Price: £11.00
Donor
  • North Carolina State University Jason W. Reed
Locus Photo
photo of Arabidopsis plant
Stock type: individual line
Material type: seed

Phenotype
double mutant; slightly longer hypocotyl than the phy B single mutant in white light; longer hypocotyl than the phyB single mutant in red light and same length as that of the phyA mutant in far-red light; poorly developed cotyledons in red light unlike the single mutants, reduced red-light induction of CAB gene expression and reduced chlorophyll induction; PhyA and PhyB appear to have overlapping and complementary functions in controlling germination, seedling development, and flowering.
