NASC Stock Detail Page
NASC ID: N8049
Name: DsG1
ABRC stock number: CS8049
Description: Contains maize Dissociation (Ds) transposable element; gene trap (exon trap, intron trap) line; kanamycin resistant (NPTII); beta-glucuronidase (GUS) with intron splice acceptor sites in all three frames, no promoter; naphthalene acetamide (NAM) sensitive (contains indole acetic acid hydrolase, IAAH); crosses to Ac lines (CS8043, CS8044, and CS8045) induce transposition of Ds; selection for kanamycin resistance and NAM insensitivity in F2 generation results in transposed lines lacking Ac, and favors transpositions not closely linked to the donor Ds site; expression of GUS may occur if 5-prime end of GUS is transposed into an intron or in-frame in an exon; introduced into plants by Agrobacterium transformation - contains T-DNA borders.
