NASC Stock Detail Page
NASC ID: N69206
Name: cvp1-3
ABRC stock number: CS69206
Description: Isolated from a population of EMS-mutagenized seedlings in a screen for vascular pattern mutants. Backcrossed 3 times to Col. Homozygous for the mutation. The cvp1-3 allele contains a missense mutation in the initiation codon, resulting in a null allele. Primer sequences: cvp1-3 (F14MT1, 5 -GGTCTTCCTCACTCTTAACG-3 ; F14MT2, 5 -GCACCGTCGAAACTGTTGTC-3 ).

Germplasm Info
Seed type: EMS mutant point mutation
Mutagen: ethylmethane sulfonate
Background: Col(Columbia)
Pedigree: Backcrossed 3 times to Col
Growth requirement: none
Phenotype
Aberant vascular patterning phenotype in the cotyledons, specifically a discontinuous venation pattern, reduction of vein loops, and thicker veins. Additional phenotypes include: Smaller, spoon-shaped cotyledons and retarded growth with a compact rosette composed of small vegetative leaves that fail to expand to wildtype size. Reduced plant height and apical dominance, delayed flowering time and senescence; serrated floral organs, shorter siliques and reduced fertility.
